Palichanh is exiled to the wilderness for misreading the blood sign, which Sankhip takes as a wicked ploy to seize his throne. Phralam discovers the headwaters of the stream on the banks of which he and Phralak make camp are actually the the despairing Palichanh’s copious tears. Manikap grazes in the foreground, guarded by Phra Lak.
