Photo shows a beautiful church at the corner of Mabini and España streets where Spanish officials and the inhabitants of ancient Parian used to hear mass. However, this once imposing church with San Juan Bautista as its patron saint was destroyed sometime in 1878-1880. The convent of the church was spared and was used later during the American regime as a public library and a fire station.
