This paper examines Thailand’s response to the first-wave of the COVID-19 outbreak and how this impacted the country’s public health, economy, and citizens’ daily lives. It explores various factors that played significant roles in mediating their quick virus mitigation, such as the country’s government policies, universal healthcare system, use of media, and cultural practices. Grounded in the personal experiences of Thai residents throughout the outbreak, this research provides a human-centered view on the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand. This paper was selected as the first place winner for the 2022 Southeast Asia Digital Library Undergradate Paper Award
